So I finally tried DragonFly on one of our test servers (not my desktop :-). It seems that DragonFly still have some issues with the SATA devices. I am trying to fix it, maybe by porting some good FreeBSD ATAng code.
DragonFly has gave us some good examples that how a user-friendly operating system should, and some different way on designing a MP-capable architecture. Thanks, Matt!

It seems that if one host is fsck’ing and the other is trying to boot, then the controller will halt. I’m so tired and sick about this!

I have set up a mirror for the major BSD software, especially DragonFly/Free/Open/NetBSD and KAME at my personal server, tarsier.delphij.net for about two weeks. Today I have annouced that on kernel@dfly and Liam Foy has added it to the official download list.
Some cvsweb and other related site is ongoing. I’m very pleased that I can support BSD related software, no matter joining their development, or providing mirrors for wider spread.

A post on tech-kern has suggested that NetBSD has better performance on several aspects. I think FreeBSD should take some of their ideas. What’s more, I believe it’s more important to have something that is unique in FreeBSD, not doing what’s the equivalent because “Solaris have this” :-)

参与评论FreeBSD RELENG_4 opens again
It’s now consered as a legacy branch like RELENG_2_2 and RELENG_3. Future commits to RELENG_4 no longer needs re@’s approval, but only those committed to RELENG_4_11 (with re@’s approval, of course) will go to 4.11-RELEASE. 4.11-RELEASE will be the final 4-STABLE release and it will be a errata release.

Finally NetBSD has released their 2.0-RELEASE, which is a significant progress of the NetBSD development.

When I have loaded drm/radeon, my laptop will reboot right after X11 is going to start. Not known why this time… :-(
