gjournal alpha released
gjournal is one of the Google Summer of Code projects that is FreeBSD related. It provides data journalling service that will be useful for frequent randomized area writing, just like write clustering.
Today, the first public alpha version has been released.
Please note that this is not intentional to replace SoftUpdates nor a real journalling file system, as the metadata consistency protection is different than just do data writing journalling. However, this indicates a good way of providing better performance for file systems.

After RELENG_6 has forked off, we now have 1MB+ diff’s against HEAD.

Colin has finally added portsnap and related stuff (bsdiff, etc) to FreeBSD 7.0-CURRENT. This would not be MFC’ed before 6.0-RELEASE, but still good enough because it will attract more users to use it.
Portsnap is a secure and efficient alternative to the current ports tree update approach. Since it goes through HTTP, it is much easier than other existing methods to use it to obtain ports, especially from some brain-damaged administrated networks.

据说台风(!)已经刮到北京了，然后似乎这属于不可抗力，所以今天晚上小命属于自己，而不是保险公司或者银行，哈哈~~

有些误会我不想解释，因为解释了很难说不会造成新的误解，而正如罗老师所说，人生，总有那么几回踩到大便的时候，比如虽然那个人不错，和我关系也不错，但这件事就很大便，至少让我觉得有点郁闷——我知道你不容易，能帮的忙我尽量帮，但是以目前我不断被各种大小事件PREEMPT的状况，我什么时候能集中精力做点所谓的「大事」？
