As planned, Jeff Roberson has made ULE scheduler the default for FreeBSD’s CVS -HEAD. This is an important step going forward to 5-STABLE.

SCHED_ULE is a new scheduler that has been designed for SMP and has some advantages for UP as well. It is intended to replace the 4BSD scheduler over time.

ULE scheduler is highly SMP-aware and HTT aware. It is suitable for use in SMP environments.
