NetBSD 1.6.2 RELEASE released
It’s the latest NetBSD stable RELEASE. This version is dedicated to Erik Reid, a NetBSD developer who contributed many MIPS related port efforts, as well as the XFree86 DRI interface, and were dead in an sailing accident in February 18, 2004.
NetBSD is the only operating system supporting more than 50 platforms at the same time. At the beginning, NetBSD and FreeBSD were developed by the same group of people, today, because of the focus difference, they gradually divided. NetBSD and FreeBSD often port their counterpart’s code, and hence they are highly compatible.
NetBSD has some significant improvements in this release.
