I don’t use Access for serious applications, and the biggest problem with it is performance concerns. It does not support concurrent accesses, and hence we will have a big trouble if our server is heavily loaded.

I was trying to implement a high performance application for the Graduate Student Office at my university, as they requested me to use Access, I have adopted the idea. Unfortuantelly, I found that Access lacks some critical functionalities from SQL Server, for instance, the Batch Updating ablity. This is really boring, however, fortunatelly, the dataset is not so big so it’s not a practical problem.
