Finally the long-awaited gcc 3.4.0 RELEASE has been released. When will it be ported to FreeBSD’s main tree?

David O’Brien has explained that given the change between two major releases of gcc will generate large brokeness of the ports tree and even src tree, he and Alexenda Kabbev has not yet decided whether to import gcc 3.4.0-R into main tree.

A final snapshot of gcc 3.3.3 or 3.4.0-R will became the final compiler of FreeBSD 5-STABLE. I’d prefer the latter if possible, though :-)
