delphijfork

As always, it’s available at ftp.freebsdchina.org/china_ports/delphijfork.

I have adopted all RELENG_5 features here, bind9, etc. Also the delphijfork features are retained.

This is mostly equal to 5.3-BETA3.

Now we have RELENG_5 branched, and HEAD is now 6.0-CURRENT.

delphijfork will be a mixture of RELENG_5 and HEAD for recent days. I will build a RELENG_5’ifyed version so the code is fresh enough for RELENG_5.

I was quite busy recently however it is time to release delphijfork as 5-STABLE is imminent.

As always, it can be obtained from ftp://ftp.freebsdchina.org/pub/china_ports/delphijfork.

In this release, I have added a (untested) ATA workaround for CD-ROMs that is not installed in correct slot.

delphijfork 20040809 consists the latest FreeBSD features as well as my local changes in kernel and userland applications.

This release is primarily a “bugfix” release, including a large set of bugfixes in drivers and kernel.

This is basically equivlent as what is running on beastie.frontfree.net. It exhibits stablity and performance improvements the recent work by FreeBSD folks.

Main new features (all from FreeBSD):

• gcc 3.4.2
• ACPI, drivers’ improvements
• VM improvements

etc.

Yeah I know that you were surprised why there were not delphijfork during the last two weeks, that is because I was extremely busy and beasite got some problems. Now everything seems to be sane.

I have decided to disable it as a workaround of the recent instablity of beastie, whose console I can’t easily touched. junsu has suggested this workaround and it seems to work :-(

I will install a local copy of delphijfork and figure out why it is stalling.

I’m not sure why, but this is really strange. Maybe cvsup’s bug? I finally removed a directory and re-sync’ed the code and it seems to work properly now. (N.B. files were not updated by cvsup :-(

This snapshot should be much more stable than previous one.

This should be a unstable release, however I hope more people to report problems they encounted.
