tarsier的配置如下：

Pentium 4 3.0E
1G RAM
250G ATA * 2

tarsier将是我的第一个非职务管理的、同时又使用了jail service的FreeBSD服务器。tarsier上将采用我所提出的fast jail技术。

Today I have bought a BenQ FP756-12ms LCD monitor and now I can use it at home for my developments and my *BSD involements can be better continued.

最近几天和FreeBSD有关的活动将不得不减少。

I have fighted against the issue that LJ1000 can’t work correctly with FreeBSD however I have failed.

I got “ulpt0: Input/Output Error” when doing cat foo > /dev/ulpt0.

Of course, cups and friends won’t run with this state.

This problem exists in FreeBSD 5.3-RC, 4.10-STABLE. However, interestingly Windows works correctly.

So, why??

Now beastie.frontfree.net is running with HTT enabled.

Olivier Houchard (cognet) has just committed several files to support the ARM architecture. I have already slipped tags for this change.

I’m going on to track down the Pentium 4 HTT issue of FreeBSD. Currently I have setup a tinderbox (hengdm’s workstation because he is not here :-P and it’s the only box which supports HTT) and compiled a SMP kernel on it.

Today I met a famous FreeBSD developer, David O’Brien (a.k.a. obrien@) and he gave us a presentation about the AMD64 architecture, which cleared my misunderstanding about the AMD64 architecture set by some marketing guys presenting in Tsinghua University.
