IPv6

06年 工大 上 IPv6 的时候，我曾经说过，什么时候从 IPv6 上收到了垃圾邮件，才说明 IPv6 真的要普及了。到后来，我自己的机器也上了 IPv6，而这个 IPv6 的应用也仅仅是邮件而已。

今天是周六，昨天晚上 陈总 跟我说 tarsier 要搬家到那个 IDC 的楼上，于是今天早上起来看，发现 IP 已经过去了，但是有一根网线没插，陈总自己的机器有 4 台没有起来，看来国内的 IDC 的服务水平还是有待提高啊。

刚刚得到的消息，萩野純一郎博士（原名伊藤純一郎；itojun，Jun-ichiro “itojun” Hagino）于10月29日逝世，得年37岁。

萩野純一郎是著名 Internet 架构专家，曾担任 IETF v6ops 联席主席、IAB委员、FreeBSD、NetBSD 和 OpenBSD 及 Darwin committer（是目前为止 *BSD 项目唯一一个）、NetBSD 安全长官等，作为 KAME 和 WIDE Project 的灵魂人物，对 IPv6、 IPSec 等下一代互联网技术作出了卓越的贡献；1998年在 Keio University 获得博士学位。

今天我们给FreeBSDChina.org配置了IPv6路由。现在IPv6网络上可以直接访问www.freebsdchina.org了。

今天Qing LI在-developers邮件列表中介绍了他和神明达哉(Tatuya Jinmei)、Keiichi Shima两位KAME重量级人物共同撰写的关于KAME实现的书。从出版社的介绍来看，这本书将于11月正式发布。[更正：作者说，此书应在10月而非11月发布]

Today, Wietse Venema has announced postfix 2.2.0-RELEASE. To quote him:

The official Postfix 2.2 release adopts widely used third-party patches and a bunch of new functionality that was developed over the past year.Below is a summary of the changes. These and more are detailed in the RELEASE_NOTES document, which also describe the incompatible changes that you should be aware of BEFORE upgrading from Postfix
2.1 or earlier.

• TLS and IPv6 support are now built into Postfix, based on code
  from third-party patches.

• Extended query interface for LDAP, MySQL and PostgreSQL with free
  form SQL queries, and domain name filters to reduce unnecessary
  lookups.

People’s Daily, an official newspaper from China official, claimed that IPv9 is being deployed in China. What the hell is that? From the statement I can’t figure out what it is and why it is necessary, however, maybe I am incorrect?
