I have added some SYNFLOOD proof packet filter rules for beastie.frontfree.net. Interestingly, the filter options seems to “forge” beastie.frontfree.net to be an OpenBSD box.

I have posted it as rev. 1.5 of <research.delphij.net/freebsd/rfc3522.diff>. Some minor comestic changes has gone into the patchset, as junsu pointed out. I’ll remove the unrelated ones soon.

I have ported Jeffrey Hsu’s RFC3522 implementation in DragonFlyBSD to FreeBSD. Check https://research.delphij.net/freebsd/rfc3522.diff.

It appears that NetBSD has finally adopted packet filter, an OpenBSD feature to its base. Compared to FreeBSD’s pf port, this will be much easier one because the VM structure is almostly alike.

Not sure how did the corporation has designed the firewall system, it is simply - bogous and useless, and is fragile by design. All the design’s function is to keep the network out of being functional, not to make it a bit safer.

FreeBSD and OpenBSD’s inetd are based on a same codebase. However, they have different features and OpenBSD have some features that FreeBSD is lacking at present. For example, per-interface binding, etc.

有人在不停地催我，我有点急想骂那人，但终于还是忍住了，因为其实我也没有办法——爱谁谁吧，眼下尽快把毕业设计做完是第一位的，其他的全是瞎掰。我想起了老汪的那句「你得把A逼出屎来，然后A再把B逼出屎来，然后事情就办了」，这话最早还是出自liu8，但是，那什么，好像现在我是A，而网络中心是B，然而，恐怕断网并不是凭网络中心一己之力能够解决的，因为他们的工作人员最近几天也在满负荷运转。

学校已经断网这么多天了，真不知道那家公司在搞什么，在做什么，他们之前有计划没有，遇到了什么问题，解决到什么地步，打算再折腾多久，说得难听一点，是不是在拿学校的设备在练手：上千万人民币的项目，一家虽然不算太有名，但总还是有一些经验的公司，也是学校的老牌合作商，看过他们的投标书，应该还算是正规吧，应该也有相当多的施工经验吧，可是就是不知道怎么一到关键时刻就那么多意外，那么多状况。把设备调好了拿来，分阶段并行安装，出问题回退到前一阶段，用的着连着调这么久吗？

今天学校继续断网，我在赶毕业设计。暂不记log。
