我给本站的 RSS 和 Atom feed 加了一个纯 JavaScript 实现的 XSLT 处理器，为浏览器移除内建 XSLT 支持做准备。

本站在2021年2月5日为RSS feed和sitemap添加了XSLT样式，后来重新设计本站主题 chaos-theme 时也沿用了这一做法。

这些 XML 文档便于程序读取，但直接给人看就不太直观；XSLT 可以把它们转换成 HTML，让同一份内容同时服务于程序和人类读者。

霍总几天前发表了一篇blog， Google的社会化梦想与Reader。我仔细想想，似乎也不全是 Google 的问题。

有人说，Google要做的是大众产品，而Reader是小众产品，哪怕它已经成为了半专业的工具，也并不会改变这个事实，甚至于，这反而是件火上浇油的事情。我基本上认同这个说法。

我认为很大程度上，用户的心态也是有问题的。 Google 做出强推 Google+，砍掉 Google Reader 的决定，背后自有其商业方面的考量，至于这决定是对，是错，从用户的角度你很难有立场说"Google这样做对了，或是这样做错了"，能说的，最多也就是"Google这么做哥们很不爽"吧？

还有人去白宫网站发请愿。靠去白宫网站发个请愿，召集几万人签名是根本没用的，至少在我看来就是这样—-想要改变一个公司基于商业考量做的决定，最有效的方法就是让这个决定看起来不那么符合其商业利益，其他一切一切的手段都是无关紧要的。

As many of you already know, Google have recently decided to shut down their Google Reader service, yet another move since the one happen in 2011 to push their – failing, in my opinion – Google+ product.

Mars is a Planet (slightly modified) installation based RSS reader, which has built my frequently visited feeds into it. The domain name is proposed by Neo Gui who thinks that ‘planet’ would be better off the Mars.

What I liked is that Planet, unlike many of other RSS readers, renders a static page for user consumption. This makes it to be more reliable when the server itself is handling dynamic contents, and much less chance being an attack surface.

It turns out that just doing a substring “invalid” search within the XML DOM’s responseText is silly and I have replaced it with an explicit compare. This is still imperfect, though, but fairly bullet-proof as I added an “invalid” in recent blog which caused the RSS reader to consider the feed itself is invalid :-(

Last night I have improved the layout of www.delphij.net to adopt CSS as its main layout. An RSS reader has been added also which shows contents from Chaos.

It’s so common to provide information feeds through RSS feed and today Ceri has committed FreeBSD’s RSS transform.

ShapReader was introduced to me by junsu@ and I liked it very much. Today, it turns one (The first release was released last year), let bless it :-)

Today, I saw CSDN announced their RSS 2.0 Feed (UPDATE: weber said that was announced a couple of weeks before), and I rushed into implementing one for Frontfree Technology Network.

RSS Feed is an important feature for modern websites, which permits visitors to “subscribe” the feeds, and syndicate the contents with other websites.
