So finally Doug Rabson has make it. It’s written with D Language and is in git here.

版本控制、持续集成测试、自动化回归测试等等，都拦不住不靠谱的开发人员和盲目引入新特性而不关注可用性和可靠性的架构师。某开源项目真是快让我发疯了，明明都已经第十几个小版本了……

今天 -HEAD 被命名为 FreeBSD 9.0-CURRENT 了（对应的 __FreeBSDversion 是 900000）。从流程上说，这么做的意思是 -HEAD 终于准备解冻进入 slush 状态了（另外，8.0-BETA3应该很快会发布了），基本上之前的一些障碍也都扫清了，目前看来，8.0-RELEASE应该只推后两周左右。。

如题。

不过这一次因为-CURRENT code slush的缘故，应该不会在 8.0-CURRENT 里面引入了（Ed在svn里面建立了另一个branch来做）。我想从各方面考虑，9.0-RELEASE里面正式砍掉gcc那一套东西应该不会是很困难的事情。传统上 FreeBSD 的代码用到了很多gcc的扩展，因此可能还需要一段时间。

First of all, thanks goes to all people who has helped me on this project, especially Pav (portmgr@) who gave it a twist on pointyhat.

It seems that this has taken me almost a month and 20 commits to get into the tree, after the code is ready. At the beginning, the changeset was ~200KB, and I believe it’s not good to just go ahead and commit it in one time, since it makes reviewing hard. Instead, I manually split it into smaller, functional related chunks, and commit it part-by-part.

做了一个试验，导一个10万多revision的svn库进来到trac里面，结果整整一个上午过去了，才导了一半。估计得等到下班才能有结果了吧。。。

今天看到了 Murray 和 Nik 两位老大。Paul Saab有一些私人的事情没来，所以没有看到。在 Sunnyvale 举办了这次 GSoC mentor 的 party（游泳池不错！），来了很多以前听说过的神仙（有个老印还给大家吹一种类似萨克斯的乐器，据说他去年就这么做过一次，不知道是哪个项目的神仙），比如 moinmoin 和 pidgin 的作者等等，与此相比，FreeBSD的人反而显得单薄了一些（算上我3个），看来明年我们还是有很多需要改进的地方的。

Here is a patchset that updates cvs to 1.11.22, which means some bugfixes. I have not throughly tested it yet.

在和re@、security-officer@讨论之后，今天正式完成了BSD gzip的MFC，不过由于mx2的一些问题，现在cvs commit mail还没有发出。

今天core team批准了rafan同学的commit权限升级。目前，他已经获得了FreeBSD ports/ 和 src/ 两个代码库的 commit bit。
